Robert Sarmast is an internationally
recognized authority on comparative mythology, ancient history, and
world religions. As an author and expedition leader his original
research made front-page news around the globe and launched two
legendary deep-sea expeditions (2004, 2006) in the Eastern
Mediterranean. His role as researcher and expedition-leader inspired
two prime-time documentaries by NBC News Productions (“Quest for
Atlantis” with Natalie Morales, 2006) and the History Channel
(“Digging for the Truth” with Josh Bernstein, 2007).
Dubbed as a “modern-day Indian Jones” by
the media, Sarmast is best known for his highly publicized exploits in
finding Atlantis and Eden. His break-out book, Discovery of
Atlantis: the Startling Case for the Island of Cyprus (Origin
Press, 2003), became an overnight sensation. The original research
reached an international audience and created excitement and debate
receiving extensive press coverage from the world’s top media outlets.
His book received rave reviews by such authors as Colin Wilson and is
now established as a classic in the field, translated and published in
three languages.
Sarmast has been on several international
book tours and has lectured widely. He has been interviewed live on
over one hundred radio and television programs around the world,
including the BBC World Service, CNN, Reuters, The Discovery Channel,
Coast to Coast with George Noory, The Richard and Judy Show (UK), and
Radio Europe. His story has been covered by The New York Times, USA
Today, The New York Post, National Geographic, The History Channel,
National Public Radio, FOX News, NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, The
Daily Show with Jon Stewart, MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann,
Der Speigel, Le Monde, Al Jazeera, The Sunday Telegraph, The Guardian,
and The London Times.
